Austin P - Homeschool Tutor In San Diego CA - Local or Online
I'm Austin and I enjoy spending time with family and friends, petting my dog, listening to new music, and watching the same 3 TV shows over and over. I've spent 22 of my nearly 26 years alive as a student, and I can relate to many issues you may face in school today. I love tutoring and connecting with students, so feel free to reach out anytime.
Experience
I'm Austin and during college I tutored younger students part-time to help pay my bills. I loved connecting with my students and seeing them improve, but had my sights set on a career in research science. After graduating in 2017, I moved to San Diego to pursue a doctorate in chemistry at UCSD, a plan I ditched after 3 years because I just couldn't let go of tutoring work I'd been doing in my spare time. Earlier this year, I finally answered my calling to this field (and the urging of happy tutoring parents to "go pro") and left the university with a master's degree to tutor for a living. I specialize in STEM, writing, and college application support, but tutor students across nearly all academic disciplines, save for foreign languages I don't speak (although I am currently learning Latin to help a student who will begin learning it next semester). I have expertise with Common Core math and English/language arts guidelines, and often help students below grade level standards catch up to their peers. I'm also experienced with nearly all AP and IB courses offered at San Diego high schools. I currently have students across all of K-12, and I'm happy to provide references specific to any grade level. I'm also happy to provide my resume - please just ask!
