Hi there! I'm originally from Oregon, but spent the last few years living in Chicago. I now live in Denver with my fiance and my dog, Ella. I graduated from the University of Oregon in 2018 with a degree in Linguistics. I have over a year of private tutoring experience in all subjects, and am experienced in Spanish immersion learning.
Experience
I began my experience in education in 2012 working at a preschool. There I both had the opportunity to plan curriculum and execute it. I worked there for three years, and had an amazing experience watching all my kids learn and grow. In 2018, I graduated with a BA in Linguistics. I worked in a language lab during my time in university, and learned some cool things about how kids learn and process language. My focus language was Spanish, in which I'm fluent, and I particularly love bilingual education. During the 2019-2020 school year, I worked as a nanny/private tutor in all subjects for a fifth grader. I had a wonderful experience with this family and continue to tutor her in Spanish online. I also got the opportunity to work with a Spanish immersion family pod for the first several months of the 2020-2021 school year before their school opened in-person. I helped these three students (K, 2nd, 3rd) with their virtual learning as well as giving them lots of one-on-one instruction. I'm also currently working with a fully-homeschooled fifth grader in all subjects.
